
Increase in electricity prices. The bills of August have raised the public’s cries. Thousands instead of hundreds and lakhs of rupees instead of thousands. Citizens bubbled up. The unit price in the current bills has reached Rs. 60. Long queues outside the WAPDA offices to receive and waive the bill. Officials are not ready to listen to the people’s complaints about increasing the prices of petroleum products and electricity. The memes of removing poles from WAPDA and taking down electricity meters started going viral on social media. Civil society, Anjaman Tajran Leah also announced a protest against WAPDA in different cities.
